Current South African Bursary Programmes

Transnet Bursary Scheme

Transnet is a focussed and integrated freight transport company which is essentially driven by five operating divisions Transnet freight rail, Transnet engineering, Transnet national ports authority, Transnet port terminals, Transnet pipelines and specialist units (Transnet Capital Projects and Transnet Property).
These operating divisions, supported by Company-wide specialist functions, give meaning to our philosophy of “One Company, One Vision”.
It is with pride that we announce that our business philosophy of “delivering freight reliably”  not only applies to our business practices but also to you as one of our prospective future bursary holders. This aligns to address Transnet’s skills needs in support of the Transnet Market Demand Strategy.
We welcome the interest you have shown in Transnet as a prospective future employer and trust that we can, through our bursary scheme, assist you to make your dreams come true.

Anglo American Bursary Programme

Anglo American Platinum places a high degree of importance on the training and development of our employees. We are expanding to meet market demands, and introducing modern technology into our operations. For this reason, we need high calibre professionals to operate and manage our operations. Our bursary scheme is mainly designed to give young professionals an entry point into the Company. The scheme not only provides these bursars with an academic qualification, but it also gives them all the skills they will need to launch a successful career in the Company and in the mining industry.
The scheme is attractive in many respects – not only does it cover all of the financial needs of bursars, but it also provides medical cover and includes a computer allowance. And most importantly, it offers the prospect of a permanent position with the world leader in platinum.
Applications open from 1 January 2015 and close on 15 May 2015 and decisions for the following year are typically made during September.
