A landmark shareholding agreement with Ceracure (Pty) Ltd in 2017 strengthened Veolia Southern Africa’s compliance with new Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) regulations demonstrating its continued commitment to local empowerment and transformation. Veolia’s shareholding arrangement with Ceracure represents an important pillar of the Company’s new vision, that of enhancing the environmental solutions for the delivery of highly efficient, low carbon footprint treatment technologies in the Southern Africa region. A range of recent organisational and technological innovations that have streamlined the organisation’s manufacturing, distribution and service networks across the region has positioned Veolia Southern Africa as a key technology and manufacturing hub for Veolia’s new range of standard engineered products.

With five specialist business units, Engineering & Procurement for large projects, Water Technologies, Services and Consumables, Onsite Services, waste-handling and energy solutions, Veolia offers the widest range of services from designing and commissioning of plants to managing maintenance and operational contracts, as well as refurbishments and outsourcing.
In 2019, the Veolia group supplied 98 million people with drinking water and 67 million people with wastewater service, produced nearly 45 million megawatt-hours of energy and treated 50 million metric tons of waste.
