PINK LOERIE FOUNDATION CALLS FOR URGENT EMERGENCY DONATIONS FOLLOWING DEVASTATING MOSSEL BAY FIRES

The Pink Loerie Foundation issues an urgent call to the public, businesses, and corporate partners following the devastating fires that have ravaged parts of Mossel Bay, leaving families displaced, homes destroyed, and animals without food, shelter, or care.

These fires have not only reduced households to ashes but have also left countless residents without basic necessities. Families have lost everything – clothing, food, bedding, and personal belongings – while pets and animals are facing severe shortages of food and water.

Immediate assistance is critically needed.

The Pink Loerie Foundation, together with community partners, is mobilising an emergency relief response to support affected households and animals. We urgently appeal for donations of the following:

Urgently Needed Donations

· Cash donations (via bank transfer or Zapper – essential for purchasing specific relief items as needs evolve)
· Dog food
· Cat food
· Bottled water
· Powerade / Energade (or any electrolyte-type drinks)
· Food (non-perishable preferred)
· Blankets
· Sunscreen
· Lip balm
· Clothing and basic household essentials (male and female / infant to adult / all sizes)
· Any items suitable for families who have lost everything

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference to someone facing unimaginable loss.

This is a humanitarian and animal welfare emergency.

The physical exhaustion, emotional trauma, and harsh environmental conditions make these supplies essential for survival, recovery, and dignity.

The Pink Loerie Foundation is committed to ensuring that all donations are distributed directly to those most affected, including vulnerable families and their animals.

We urge individuals, businesses, retailers, and suppliers to stand with Mossel Bay in this time of crisis. Together, we can restore hope, provide relief, and show that no one stands alone in the face of disaster.
