R638 of 2018 – Food Safety and Hygiene Practice
The Minister of Health has, in terms of section 15 (1) of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act. 1972 (Act No. 54 of 1972), made the Regulations in the Schedule. The regulations apply to sectors such as poultry, preparations and products. R638 (Regulations Governing General Hygiene Requirements for Food Premises, the Transport of Food and Related Matters) has now been gazetted. This replaced R962.
Target
With the successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to understand and apply knowledge in relation to:
- The importance of R638 of 2018.
- Compliance with the compulsory requirements for food premises.
- Understand the key regulatory requirements.
- Equip Persons in charge (PIC) with knowledge and skills to enable the transfer of knowledge to staff and food handlers.
