The Miss Earth South Africa organisation, has announced that the First Runner Up, Belindé Schreuder will be representing South Africa at the international Miss Earth, taking place in Vietnam later this year. This will be the 23rd Miss Earth and it will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, on the 22nd December 2023. Mina Sue Choi of South Korea will crown her successor.
The Miss Earth South Africa is a leadership and empowerment programme for young women. South Africa celebrated their 20th Anniversary at an event hosted by Southern Sun. Born in Lephalale, Limpopo, Belindé Schreuder has always lived a life of adventure. Her formative years were partially spent on her grandfather’s farm in Bela Bela, where her profound connection with nature and animals began to take root. The loss of her grandfather in 2019, was heart wrenching, however she pays homage to his memory by embracing the lessons he shared with her.
This is a woman of extraordinary character, often describing herself as a blend of adventure and humility. Her fervent love for animals and the natural world led her towards diverse conservation projects, harmonizing her adventurous spirit with a burning desire to leave a positive imprint on our planet. The thirst for exploration also defines her, with her travels spanning over 12 countries, including Macua, France, Turkey, Italy, and Poland, each adventure adding depth to her understanding of the world.
Belindé’s venture into the world of modelling began at the age of 3. Today, she has carved a niche for herself in the fashion and modelling industry, boasting a portfolio adorned with prestigious titles such as Miss Supranational South Africa 2018, Miss Grand International South Africa 2020, and World Supermodel South Africa 2017. Her modelling career has seen her grace the glossy pages of magazines, strut the runways of fashion shows, and star in commercials. Only to now make the boldest step of her career, as she represents South Africa, at the third most prestigious beauty pageant in the world, the Miss Earth 2023.
Her core beliefs revolve around kindness, respect, honesty, gratitude, and optimism. She firmly believes in the latent potential within every individual and encourages others to chase their dreams. Her unwavering faith in God and His plan for her life bestows upon her an unyielding wellspring of strength and purpose. Her passion for adrenaline sports, encompassing skydiving, bungee jumping, and surfing, highlights her courage and unwavering determination.
