Sun El Musician and Simmy To Bring Two Massive Performances To Kirstenbosch

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts, in partnership with the City of Cape Town, are excited to welcome both Sun El Musician and Simmy back to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden on 29 January 2023.

South African producer Sun El Musician will headline the concert with his magical blend of Afro-House and electronic music. In December 2020, the well-established artist released his second album, which received high recognition and worldwide streaming success. Sun El Musician has also been nominated for and has won several South African Music Awards for his hit single ‘Akanamali’ with Samthing Soweto, ‘Into Ingawe’ with Ami Faku, and his Africa to the World album.

“The diversity at the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts is truly amazing. It is one of those events which truly brings everyone together to celebrate what it means to be African and celebrate good music,” said Sun El Musician.
Opening the stage and setting the mood for an evening of riveting music will be South African Neo-soul / Neo-folk music artist Simmy. She is one of the country’s future biggest stars, and her sound is fuelled by her rich low beautiful vocals and influential instrumentation. Her album TugelaFairy is inspired by Dolly Parton, Platform One, Brenda Fassie, Soul Brothers and Izingane zo-Ma. Fans can expect to hear all their known favourites as well as some new songs.
The City is proud to partner with Kirstenbosch to showcase two of South Africa’s top artists.  We are incredibly excited to see these two artists back at Kirstenbosch, mesmerising the crowd at such an incredible setting,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.
