Support Sea Turtle Conservation at the Noordhoek Art Point Gallery

Noordhoek Art Point Gallery is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to support the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation in their mission to rehabilitate stranded sea turtles and build a new Turtle Conservation Centre at the V&A Waterfront. This critical fundraiser will provide essential aid for these endangered creatures and contribute to the expansion of conservation facilities.

In the past month alone, the Two Oceans Aquarium has received nearly 580 stranded sea turtle hatchlings, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced rehabilitation capabilities. The original turtle rehab center was established out of necessity, and now, with a rising number of sea turtles in distress, the importance of a new, dedicated space for turtle research and rehabilitation has never been more evident.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the new Turtle Conservation Centre will consolidate turtle rehabilitation, education, and research under one roof, significantly expanding the scope of conservation efforts. This multifunctional facility will be accessible to all, showcasing various turtle species and promoting awareness of marine ecosystems. It will also address the critical impacts of climate change, plastic pollution, and discarded fishing gear on sea turtles and their habitats.

In support of this cause, 22 artists have generously donated unique pieces of art. Visitors are invited to enter for a chance to win the entire collection of these tiny masterpieces, with all proceeds going towards the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation’s essential work.

The Tiny Art Gallery exhibition will be on display at Noordhoek Art Point Gallery from 15 May to 30 June 2024. Don’t miss this special opportunity to view and support the extraordinary artwork and contribute to a vital conservation initiative.
