Sustainable Built Environments conference returns – register now

After an absence of 24 years, this first conference in the second series on Sustainable Built Environments will be held at the historic HouwHoek Hotel in the Elgin-Grabouw valley, Western Cape from 28-30 March.

The original ‘green building’ conference first held 24 years ago, SBE22 brings together pioneers, practitioners and futurists in an event where sustainable, regenerative innovations and applications will be presented and debated.

How do we design and build in a changing climate with extreme weather, variable resources, biodiversity loss and social emergencies. What can we relinquish or adapt from our past and provide appropriate technologies and solutions for a fast-changing world?

These and a range of contemporary topics will be addressed by an array of eminent speakers from South Africa, Africa and abroad in an exciting three day event.

After the seclusion of recent years, the conference will also be a welcome opportunity to meet and mix with like-minded practitioners in the broader sustainable and community development field.

Surprising and inspiring, SBE 2022 aims to combine blue-sky thinking with practical, down-to-Earth application.  Delegates will come away with new learnings and friendships to take forward and co-create new resilient futures.
