Karin Paquay’s story with Key Nutrition started long before she ever thought of running her own business. While studying radiography, she spent time in radiation therapy and saw, up close, how many young people were facing serious illness.
“It broke my heart,” she says. “I didn’t want to spend my life watching people get sicker. I wanted to help stop it before it started.” That shift in thinking pushed her toward prevention, helping people make everyday choices that protect their health. Out of that came Key Nutrition, which today is about more than products but about teaching, sharing, and giving people the tools to live well.
A philosophy grounded in simplicity
For Karin Paquay, wellness has never been about counting, cutting, or feeling guilty. In her mind, it should be something light and natural, something you can actually enjoy.
“Food and health are meant to be simple,” she says. “If you shift your mindset, everything else follows. You feel lighter, you have more energy, and you lower your chances of things like diabetes or heart problems. You also calm inflammation, which means fewer issues with autoimmune conditions. You even notice how your skin and body age more slowly. And yes, you really do look younger when your body is nourished properly. Why would you not want that?”
This belief underpins everything Key Nutrition offers. By focusing on lean eating, minimising sugar, and building strong, healthy muscle mass through protein, Paquay promotes a way of living that feels attainable rather than intimidating.
Preaching what she practices
What sets Key Nutrition apart in a crowded wellness space is its authenticity. Paquay is adamant that she will only promote what she lives by herself.
“I live exactly the life I teach so that I can talk the talk,” she says.
That consistency builds trust with clients, many of whom remain in contact with her long after they have reached their initial goals. For her, seeing their happiness is priceless.
“The true joy is in the moment someone realises they’ve achieved what they thought was impossible. We stay connected forever because that transformation is about more than food. It’s about confidence, vitality, and joy.”
That’s why her advice is always practical: eat less fat, cut sugar wherever you can, and feed your muscles with protein. It’s a simple formula, but it works for her and for her clients.
Behind the scenes of a growing brand
To the outside world, Key Nutrition may look like a consulting service. But behind the scenes, the scope is far greater.
“It’s hectic. Formulations, manufacturing, eventing, marketing, distribution, and online shopping are all part of the business.” Despite the demands, she makes sure to balance it with her own wellness. “I still enjoy my glass of wine at the end of the day to relax. And I stay active with walking and running. We recently did a volcano hike in Bali with Wild Africa Experiences.”
This balance of discipline and joy is reflected in the way Key Nutrition is run: structured, science-based, but always with room for real-life pleasure.
Milestones and moving forward
Asked about her proudest achievement, Paquay is unequivocal: “Being able to say Key Nutrition is out there and it’s beautiful, personal, and it works.”
From helping individuals manage weight and inflammation to fuelling athletes and supporting children’s nutrition, the brand has built a reputation for results. Her advice to anyone hesitating about starting their own wellness journey is straightforward: “Don’t think or hesitate. Just do it! It feels great.”
What’s next for Key Nutrition?
When she looks ahead, Karin keeps it simple: she wants to keep going and never give up. That has always been the heart of Key Nutrition. Built on honesty, prevention, and genuine relationships with the people she helps, it has grown into more than just a business.
“For me, it’s not about building a brand for the sake of it,” she says. “It’s about showing people that food can be their key to feeling younger, staying active for longer, and having the energy to live fully.”
