For recent school graduates and those looking for a career change in sectors such as hospitality, tourism and events, South Africa’s premier hospitality school, the IIE School of Hospitality & Service Management (IIEHSM) is holding several registration days at each of the school’s two campuses – Newlands in Cape Town and Rosebank in Johannesburg.
IIEHSM, which aims to address the ever increasing need for service, hospitality and customer-centric education, from entry-level to management-level qualifications, currently runs eight different courses (in order of NQF level, from entry-level qualifications to the Bachelor level):
- IIE Higher Certificate in Service Management. This qualification addresses the sector’s demand for skilled professionals and prepares you for a successful career or further studies in hospitality management. One year contact or two to three years distance (online).
- IIE Higher Certificate in Hospitality Management. This course providess students with operational, interpersonal and analytical skills to fill entry level positions in the hospitality industry. One year contact or two to three years distance (online).
- Higher Certificate in Event Management. A one year contact course that prepares graduates to coordinate and manage a wide range of events and the skills to plan, organise and execute them in various industries and sectors.
- Higher Certificate in Travel. A one year contact course for those who want to learn more about the travel and tourism industry and enjoy planning travel itineraries and sharing information about tourism destinations.
- Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Management. A two to three year IIE Distance (online) programme designed for individuals seeking to elevate their expertise and assume leadership roles within the global hospitality industry.
- Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Leadership. This two to three year IIE Distance (online) programme is designed for individuals seeking to elevate their expertise and assume leadership roles within the global hospitality industry
- Bachelor of Service Management. With the business services sector expanding and South Africa emerging as a top global destination for business services, this qualification addresses the market’s need for skilled professionals proficient in-service delivery and customer relationship management. A full-time, three year course or four to seven years IIE Distance (online).
- Bachelor of Hospitality Management. As the hospitality sector continues to drive economic growth and job creation globally, this qualification ensures graduates are well-prepared to meet industry demands and seize emerging opportunities. A full-time, three year course or four to seven years IIE Distance (online).
For distance learning, all students receive support online from a dedicated team of IIEHSM lecturers, but learners must be proficient in English and have access to essential digital tools and technologies.
